		<description>Ramin,

Thanks again for the feedback. We are actually optimized for 1024 by 768 but when you have tool bars and such installed in may force you to scroll a little. We are actually working on a new build which will allow you to resize the client and support 800 by 600 and up. Thanks.

		<description>Alex,

I understand your point of view and I am not totally against the use of Flash if its used "properly" as you put it. I will definitely give Goowy a chance to mature and give it another review in a few months. It was sort of unfair for me to single out Goowy to pick on Flash, but I was just using Goowy as an example.

While we're on the topic, I noticed that Goowy allows you to view an html version of your email message. Perhaps it should be explained to users that this html version is suited for printing, as typical internet users wouldn't associate HTML view with Print view.

Another area that needs improvement on the Goowy site is the size of the Flash application. It doesn't fit within 800x600 nor 1024x768, which are the 2 most commonly screen resolutions. I had to scroll vertically and horizontally on both resolutions.

I'm sure your team is aware of these and other little bugs. I can't wait to see the finished product to give it a full review. Keep it up, its looking good.</description>

		<description>Ramin,

Flash when used properly can not only allow you to create great effects but can also provide you a more ubiquitous environment (installed more widely than any browser) to deploy functionality that you otherwise cannot get using standard java script or Ajax (without a lot of pain and time).

If you want to develop more advanced functionality using Java script you have to develop it specifically for every browser since each browser interprets DTML and Java script somewhat differently. This is why you get a different user experience depending on the browser you use. In flash this is not the case.

For example Gmail is great but doesnt give you advanced functionality that everyone is used to in desktop email applications such as right click, drag and drop, dynamic content, etc.

We chose Flash for the functionality we could achieve using it rather than making text fly around. In addition we did want to make it fun, why shouldnt an application that so many people use on a daily basis be fun rather than the same old click and refresh experience like every other mail application..

Give goowy mail a chance and you will see how quickly we evolve the functionality and user experience. Thanks for your review.
