When writing Javascript code (or any code for that matter), it is important to be as efficient as possible, especially if you are dealing with the DOM and doing some major document object manipulation. With the increased interest in User Scripts (a la Greasemonkey and Browser powered User Scripts) optamizing your loops and object references could have a major impact on the performance of your scripts. No, not blogging! My job... Yes, I quit my job this past friday (06/20/2005). Why? Because I found a better job in New York City. I can't discuss the details of the new job, but let's just say I'll be a little bit more busy and won't be blogging from work anymore (or as much ;-))
Note to all employers of skilled employees: DO NOT let your star developers get bored and have them sit on their ass for 3 weeks at a time with nothing to do, forcing them to create their own projects and report to themselves.
Is it a cooincidence that a number of other people are leaving my previous company? Hmmm.. I started to notice a pattern there. Then I decided to join the ranks myself. So if you own a company and have some talented or passionate employees, first of all, don't take advantage of them and secondly, don't let them get bored. It's just as worst as being underpaid and overskilled.
With that said, I have 2 weeks to find a new apartment in the City! Let the craziness begin.

(These are all real, sent in by parents who found them written by their kids. Enjoy.)
Dear God,
Please put another holiday between Christmas and Easter. There is nothing good in there now.
-Amanda
Dear God,
Thank you for the baby brother, but what I asked for was a puppy. I never asked for anything before. You can look it up.

My Grandpa says you were around when he was a little boy. How far back do you go?
-Love, Dennis
Dear God,
Do you draw the lines around the countries? If you don't, who does?

Dear God,
Did you mean for giraffes to look like that or was it an accident?
-Norma

-Larry
Dear God,
I keep waiting for spring, but it never did come yet. What's up? Don't forget.

Is Reverend Coe a friend of yours, or do you just know him through business?
-Donny
Dear God,
I do not think anybody could be a better God than you. Well, I just want you to know that. I am not just saying that because you are already God.
-Charles
Dear God,
It is great the way you always get the stars in the right place. Why can't you do that with the moon?

-Frank
Dear God,
I didn't think orange went with purple until I saw the sunset you made on Tuesday night. That was really cool.

I haven't been able to put up as many posts as I'd like to lately. I'm involved in something that I cannot talk about right now. My closest friends know what is going on, so they understand. As for everyone else, sit tight and be patient, regular programming of "Get Into This" will return shortly.
Here is a clue as to what's been keeping me busy.
Meanwhile, you can keep yourselves busy as well. Read some of these great articles and resources:
Ok, that should be enough to keep you busy until I have time to post some more articles.

If you use Wordpress (or Lightpress), you know how powerful, yet cluttered the admin interface is. Well, Steve Smith of OrderedList.com has created a nice face-lift for WordPress's admin interface. I am currently using it and highly recommend it. Steve Smith has not touched the xhtml or php code at all. He's simply redefined the CSS and added some new pretty icons and graphics.
